VHG's Performance Testing Program (PTP)

The Performance Testing Programs from VHG Labs have been specially designed to verify the performance of analytical laboratories. The PTP provides a method of monitoring their analytical performance as measured against Certified Reference Materials (CRM's).

We have developed an entirely modern, internet-based system for immediate response for your analytical results.

VHG's PTP programs include testing samples for:

  • Wear Metals: Analyze the sample for up to 23 common elements and report the concentrations in µg/g (ppm). You may enter all elements or only those that you are interested in. VHG Labs' PTP is currently the only program of its kind to provide an instant response to submitted values, with convenient color-coded pass/fail indications in green (pass), yellow (borderline) and red (fail) formats via a custom-designed, easy-to-use, on-line user interface.
  • Viscosity: Analyze the sample for kinematic viscosity and report the results in mm2/s (cSt) at 40° C and/or 100° C.
  • Particle Size (for ISO 11171 only): Analyze and report the cumulative number of particles per mL for particle diameters >4µm, >6µm, >8µm, >14µm, >21µm, >38µm, >50µm and >70µm.
  • Sulfur: Analyze the sample for ultra-low sulfur content in one of three matrices (#2 Diesel Fuel, Isooctane, or Mineral Oil and report the concentration in µg/g (ppm). You will obtain an instant response to submitted values, with convenient color-coded pass/fail indications in green (pass), yellow (borderline) and red (fail) formats via a custom-designed, easy-to-use, on-line user interface.
  • Sulfur & Metals in Lube Oil: You may analyze the sample for up to 9 common elements and report the concentrations in µg/g (ppm). You may enter all elements or only those that you are interested in. You will obtain an instant response to submitted values, with convenient color-coded pass/fail indications in green (pass), yellow (borderline) and red (fail) formats via a custom-designed, easy-to-use, on-line user interface.

The PTP programs are available in an "Open" format in which any laboratory, anywhere in the world may purchase Performance Testing samples and submit their data at any time to receive an instant response.
